Booking & confirmation
If you are booking more than eight weeks in advance, to secure your holiday we require a deposit (non-refundable) of 25% of the total cost. This must be paid at the point when you make your booking and/or when you complete the online form. (See below for additional detail).
This can be paid via PayPal – or is more normally is paid via direct transfer into either our UK or our French bank account.
Final payment of holiday booking
The balance owed is payable no less than 8 weeks prior to the first day of your stay along with a damage/cleaning deposit payment (see sections on breakages and cleaning below). Once paid this is non-refundable; it is, thus vital that you obtain holiday insurance.
If your final payment is not received by the due date, we reserve the right to give notice in writing by post or email to cancel your holiday booking.
Reservations made within 8 weeks of the start date of your holiday with must be paid for in full at the time of booking.
Again, the majority of guests pay directly into our UK bank account. Deposit repayments (see below) are normally handled the same way.
Receipt of deposit and final payments is acknowledged by email.
Cleaning and laundry charge
You are asked to leave the gite in a clean and tidy condition. A standard charge (which is automatically deducted from your damages/breakages deposit – see below) is made for all bookings to cover the post-departure costs for cleaning and laundry. This is;
£150.00 – La Salle des Fetes
£120.00 – La Lumiere Est
£90.00 – L’Annexe
£60.00 – La Bergerie
Should additional cleaning over and above that which might reasonably be anticipated be needed, we reserve the right to charge for this at a rate of £30.00 per hour. Where applicable, this is also deducted from the breakages/damage deposit prior to the balance being returned.
Breakages, damage and lost items
A €500 (£400) damage deposit is required with the balance of holiday payment. All being well, this is returned to you before you leave after checking the gite. The cost of post-departure cleaning/laundry plus any breakages/damage is deducted from this amount.
Each gite comes with a range of furniture, fittings, bedding, kitchen equipment, crockery, cutlery, glassware and other items. This is fully itemised in the inventory that you are given on arrival. You are advised to check this and it is then used to ensure that everything is left as you found it. Lost or broken items are replaced at the cost of replacement purchase and this can either be paid for during your stay if dealt with at the time or is deducted from the deposit.
Taxe de sejours
We are obliged to collect a local tourist tax (the rate can vary but it is normally one euro per adult guest per night stayed). This is normally collected (in euros) from you during your stay.
You are strongly advised to take out appropriate holiday insurance to cover cancellation, medical costs, etc.
Please make your payment (in sterling or euros – where applicable at the agreed mid-market exchange rate at midday on the date of payment) via the mechanism agreed. Where applicable, cheques are payable to: John Eady.
In the majority of instances, particularly during the high season, rental periods will be from Saturday to Saturday. If you would like to book a different time period please get in touch.
