As the name suggests, this gîte is part of the main farmhouse. It features exposed beams, tiled and/or wood floors throughout and has recently been renovated and completely redecorated.

Entering via the glazed front door takes you directly into the large open plan, new and well equipped dining kitchen with all the necessary appliances plus a dining table which seats six people.

At the centre of the gîte is the bathroom area with ‘power-shower’ and hand-basin. There is a separate toilet on the ground floor.

The two directly adjacent ground floor bedrooms both sleep two (in a back to back double/twin room plus a twin room with two single beds). The double has open and hanger based storage plus reading lamps and a fan; the twin has comparable open plan storage, reading lamps and a fan.

The very attractive, large living room at the back (south) of the gîte, with its french oak floor, accommodates a library, sofa-bed and the TV/DVD. Leading directly from it, steps take you down to the lovely private south-facing terrace which is edged by rose bushes and gets the sun all day and in the early evening.

The third bedroom (a large double) is immediately above the living room and is accessed via the exterior stone steps. It enjoys a south-facing outlook over the garden and also features open and hanger based storage, bedside cabinets and lamps. It has a recently (2017) refurbished en-suite bathroom with hand-basin, WC and brand new shower.

Please note: all gîtes are non-smoking and, unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate pets.

We had such a great time at your site – the garden was perfect for our toddler to explore safely, the pool was ideal, and we really enjoyed the rural location and running the local trails. It was a perfect first foreign family holiday. All the best. Jonathan (2019).

We had a wonderful week staying at Le Village du Bois in July 2019. The gites are in an idyllic spot, in the middle of the countryside but close to Talmont St-Hilaire with its castle and restaurants and a short drive from Le Plage Veillon – a gorgeous beach with surfing and a pretty coastal walk.  The gite was very clean with modern appliances and the old charm of the building had been kept.  We greatly appreciated the loan of bikes to tour the quiet surrounding paths, which are good for walks and cycling. I would just like to say we all had such a wonderful time with you and coming back for a second time felt like we were coming home . The gites are lovely and comfortable with everything you need.
